Gratitude

As higher education professionals, we did not choose this field for the financial rewards or never ending praise. We understand our success is measured often in the results we can’t see or hold – students graduating, recognizing an “A-Ha” moment during a judicial conversation or watching friends engage during a program.

We may receive “kudos and praise” from students or families after a successful move-in or when we have helped with a specific issue during the year. However, how often do we take the time to intentionally thank our staff? It’s easy to give praise during a staff meeting or in passing. Yet, pen to paper has a more purposeful result.Thank-you

Not only will the person receiving the note of gratitude feel great but your spirits will be lifted after the 5, 25, 55 minutes you spend recognizing them.

Will you make time to recognize those who helped you this month?
